During a worship service at Knox United Church in Calgary on August 11, the Right Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath was installed as the 45th moderator of The United Church of Canada. 

Immediately following the announcement of her selection, she took to the podium to thank individuals who supported her on her journey, her fellow nominees and her home congregation, Wall Street United Church in Brockville, Ontario. She spoke of her call to leadership as a dandelion seed, gently landing on her shoulder and eventually taking root in her heart. She likened the United Church of Canada to a dandelion- beautiful and prolific, yet disruptive to the pristine, guarded lawns of powerful institutions, bringing both accountability and a steadfast voice that speaks truth to power. We look forward to Kimberly planting seeds that may bring to fruition the United Church of Canada's inspiring new initiative, Toward 2035.
